Although you got the valve to work with the engine not running, the speed of the valve operation while running is a different story so getting the MMO in the oil and fuel and driving will allow the valves to operate faster and may free up some of the piston rings, which may be sticking.

Hello again everyone! My car has been running very well since I last posted. I’ve been messing around with my thunderbird I have and that’s been taking a lot of time. Now I’m back on this,I am going to do a compression test again this coming up week maybe I’ll do it right this time. With my past readings I believe I did something wrong. Also before I drive it again or get it to higher speeds I want to inspect the brakes. They work but I want to check them over to be safe. What is the best way to check them because I expect they are a little different than drum brakes today. Anything else that I should check for safety let me know. Also if y’all could tell me the way to check compression correctly it would be appreciated!
Thank you!

when i first got my 36 pickup i did not know anything about mechanical brakes. i pulled the pickup off the trailer and it hardly stopped. the first thing i adjusted the brakes like i always did with drum brakes, that helped.

the more you drive your car the better it will run. its like if you where a sleep for 20 years and woke up, you would be very stiff

If it's running well don't worry about the compression test. That's my bit of expert advice. Just driving it more regularly will make it better. Don't be afraid to drive it hard too.
