They also made 15's. The 15 and 16 hubcaps interchange but not the 14's.

The 14in were more common, they had 8 spokes. The less common were the 16's which could be 9, 10 or 11 spoke. And the rare ones were the 15in which were 9 spoke. These appeared on various cars made by Cleveweld and sold by car makers.
All of these were called the General Jumbo !

The 15" and 16" fit the early to mid 30's cars better than the 14". The ad for running only 12 lbs. of air is to compensate for horrible roads during the depression. I can't imagine the tire companies encouraging running on only 12 lbs. of pressure!! I bet that was a fun time parallel parking!!

Lorin Sorensen did one of the Ford Life magazines that was dedicated to accessory wheels for old Fords. There were lots of different wheels in those days

FIL with his A coupe in past, had some jumbo solid wheels on it. He doesn't remember what kind they were anymore.

I am really enjoying this thread, and I love the garage photo from Rich B. I'd give my left nut (lugnut) for a set of those for my woodie wagon.

If anyone wants to enjoy the short-lived era of accessory "Jumbo" rims and tires, the Ford Life Magazine Lorin Sorensen produced, Volume 3, #6 is an excellent resource. There's lots of photos from the 1931 to 1935 period.
