No interior. Engine and all has been rebuilt. Body is very solid. Been inside for a long time.

Re: Thinking of selling
Maybe $2500 in urban coastal states. Here in flyover country I agree with two grand tops.

Re: Thinking of selling
Easiest way to sell it is on eBay. You will get top dollar and it will be gone quickly.

Re: Thinking of selling
It's an early 26, appears to have no headlight tie bar. If I were to tell you it was worth $2000, that is because that is what I would like to buy it for. In fact, if you were next door, I'd be on my way with cash. There are hot rod guys that would pay that just for the body. Hopefully, we can avoid that. Fact is, I thinks it's worth just a bit more. Not serious money, given the fact there are model T's you can drive home for 6K or less if you shop around.
If your engine is good, it would be best to spend a little time and get it going. A car that will at least start and move by itself is much easier to sell for more. eBay is good, also the Chickasha swap meet would be ideal, it's the center of the old car universe for a day or two. Erik |

Re: Thinking of selling
Bart...It seems you are asking a question that there will be many opions. I have found a way to determine what a person should pay for a car is by doing the arithmetic backwards. Assume a restored 26 touring is worth $12,000. Realistically how much would it cost to restore your car first class. Subtract that number form the $12,000 and that is about how much the car is worth in it's current condition.
Great hobby enjoy |

Re: Thinking of selling
In my country? $8,000 +
No structural rust that i can see, if so, some blankets over seat springs and enough repairs to be safe to drive and it should be road legal in the USA in no time. (fordbarn is a terrible place to ask for a $ value for a car, most posters will tell you 0$ i am not most people though)

Re: Thinking of selling
I think $2500 would be tops. And as far as the rebuilt engine go's. I have seen to many done with a set of gaskets and a can of spray paint. If you luck out and it has been rebuilt. Thats a big savings. But don't count on it.

Re: Thinking of selling
I know it has been rebuilt. The car was one of my grandfathers cars. I have just been thinking of thinning out some cars. I ended up with quite a few T's from him. He was big into T's. I'm more into early v'8's. I don't have to sell it or any of the others. But I know I will probably never do anything with it. I'm young and could let it sit with some of the others. And maybe get to it one day.

Re: Thinking of selling
Since it has been rebuilt, It would only take a battery, fresh oil & gas to get it running and then you would have it ready to sell. A non running car, no matter how pretty, will cut your money by a bunch

Re: Thinking of selling
I agree with get it running & make it move. You'll add much to the asking price. Running with a title I'd start at $4500 asking.

Re: Thinking of selling
This car is worth a lot more as a sum of it's parts. While the dissection of a complete car is troublesome, lots of people around need good original used parts. Every one wins. Good luck.

Re: Thinking of selling
39 is right. If that engine has truly been rebuilt, then the whole engine/tranny assembly is probably $2,500 all by itself. Then those wooden spoke wheels look fairly solid, $100 each easy. Rear end, if it turns, $300. And so on...

Re: Thinking of selling
The engine has been rebuilt. I'm going to send the coils off and have them rebuilt. I don't want to part it out. And would probably keep it before going that way. I have a bunch of parts if I wanted to sell parts. I will get it running. And find some tires to put on it. Might try and find some used ones. I probably won't be driving it.

Re: Thinking of selling
get the thing running and then a great way( perhaps the best way) to sell a classic car, is to park it along a well traveled street. Get permission from the land owner first of course. You will attract a whole genre of old car lovers that aren't Barners and Ebayers, EFV8's etc. and these people will tend to give you more $ than members of the afore mentioned groups would.
Good Luck |
