Rear Bumper Clamp Cam Apart
The rear bumper clamp on my 31 S/W was laying on the floor when I went out today. The stud had pulled out of the clamp. Not sure if its original or repo. It was on the car when I got it. It does have P.A stamped on the back side.
The bend of the bumper bracket doesn't line up with the bumper perfectly so there is slight spring tension on the clamp. The construction of the clamp doesn't look like it is very strong. Not a lot holding the stud in the clamp. Which are the best repos out there. Don't like the idea of the bumper falling off going down the road. |

Those are aluminum, very poor repo. They will let you down litterly.

Either find originals or call A & L for some Great Re-Pops

Re: Rear Bumper Clamp Cam Apart
Get the best you can find for the front bumper, at least. If one of those clamps lets go up front while you're cruising down the road, it ain't gonna be pretty.

Re: Rear Bumper Clamp Cam Apart
I had a pair those type clamps on the front bumper (were on the vehicle when I bought it). You can imagine the mess it made when using a tow bar that only clamped on the bumper. Several degrees earned in the School of Hard Knocks that day!

Re: Rear Bumper Clamp Cam Apart
It's hard to believe someone actually made that junk and thought it would stay together.
Give Bert's a call for original clamps, or A&L for some quality repro clamps. |

Re: Rear Bumper Clamp Cam Apart
The cast bumper clamps are notorious for coming apart, at the worst moment. The ones you want are the forged clamps like these-
