'62-63 Ford Mercury 406 Engine 7400 RPM Factory Stock
Found article about it in May 1962 How to Hop Up Your Engine.
Engine turns 7400 RPM on their dyno test! They did not say it was still making power at that rpm but it did spin that fast. It was a bored out 390 with a redesigned block casting. So.In the present.A 390 would be a 'poor man's' 406. Pretty cool engine but I could take it with my Lincoln 430!
