If it is the carburetor that is gurgling, then it seems you are experiencing the dreaded vapor lock. So, how does the engine run after it has set for a half-hour or so ?

I find that installing the fuel line so that it is completely pointing down hill, a carb to manifold spacer and/or a carb heat shield helps.

Whew . . . and I thought I was the only one hearing these sounds. Here's what I surmise is happening . . . once the cooling fan is off the heat from the manifold migrates to the carburetor. The gas heats and expands making the noise. After while put your finger in the carburetor intake, you may find it wet with gas. Both my Zenith 2 and the Tillitson it replaced did this.

Where are you and how hot is it?? Is the "noise" there only with the engine off? Could be fuel in the carb bowl "boiling".

My car gurgled...but it was the cooling system due to a blown head gasket. Just a thought.

Many years ago when my September 29 needed a new radiator ,

I could hear the water boiling in the radiator when I shut it off . After taking a ride .

After installing a new radiator, there is no boiling at shut down .

Our Model T gurgles after a run on a hot day, after shutdown. I figured it was continuing to thermo syphon. Normal for a T. Your A may be doing the same thing?

Well, if its not vapor lock then I'd recommend checking the coolant temp.

If its gurgling don't take the radiator cap off or you could get scalded
