I would buy an original radiator with a bad core and have it recored. It will fit best

I agree, having it re-cored locally gives you some one to talk to in the event of a problem.
A good shop can supply just about any type core you want.

I agree with previous recommendation to have an original radiator recored. I use Maine Radiator, Lewiston, ME. They are the best manufacturer of cores. If you have a real radiator shop near you have the solder on the upper & lower cans to the new core.
Check them out. http://maineradiator.com/

Get a Bergs and be done with it. I don't have one 'cause mine is good but to my knowledge the fit and function of Bergs has not had one complaint here in the barn

I have a Berg's and couldn't be happier. The fit was perfect and the car runs cooler than ever. It was 114F outside last week and even sitting in traffic the car wouldn't run hot. I pulled over a couple times to check the temp with an infrared temp gun and water temperature never got much over 200f.

I thought I heard an echo.

I bought a 28-9 Berg's core about 10 years ago, just to be sure I had one if needed some day.
It looks just like an NOS original core.

There is a fellow in Whitehouse, Texas - almost your neighbor, that can recore your radiator. He did one for me about year ago . I think he is still working. Jerrys Radiator. Whitehouse, TX. ken

Berg's did mine back in about 1979 (original tanks, new core)...still running good on my 1929 St. Coupe. Knock on wood!
