Default Banjo Flush

Hello all, I pulled my fill plug on my 31 banjo and it is loaded with sludge.
What is the best way to flush out the gunk before I refill?

Thanks in advance for any help

Nick

I believe Henry recommended a kerosene flush.

Install a street elbow with a short nipple & overfill it with kerosene, then drive around for a few miles, then drain it out.Repeat this process several times.

Thanks for the response. I read to use kerosene, I just wanted to confirm that, or see if there where any other methods.

Thanks again guys.

I'd would worry about the kerosene leaking onto the wheel bearings and brakes past worn axle seals.
Maybe just drain and fill with the same amount of kerosene and let it idle in third on two jack stands. This should purge all the sludge.

I'm not smart but I worry about all the junk sleeping peacefully in the nooks and crannies. For my 2 with goop inside I drained them and flushed them with 85wt about 3 times and drove on.

Is it doing any harm having some sludge in the bottom of the case - be mindful of stirring up a metalic hornets nest.
