Default motometer question

Can a motometer be installed on a standard radiator cap? I have a quail now but it has cracked the neck on my radiator and it is a pain in the neck to check the water level if the hood is up. Thanks

sure they can
just be careful that you don't tighten the nut too tight as it will collapse the cap itself

I once had a motometer installed on a 28-29 radiator cap, but the meter itself must have been from a Buick or Lincoln or something big, because it was about the size of a pie plate. I'm sorry I ever let that go.

I believe during the Model-A era Moto-Meters came in four sizes: Universal {largest}, Standard, Junior and Midget. I've got a Universal on my Chevy that is about twice the size or more of the Junior on my "A".
