Default Sending units

I was wondering who sells new sending units for a 59 AB motor. I'm running 12 volts, new braided wiring harness, and using stock gauges. I'm looking for the oil, and temp sensors for my 47 Super Deluxe.

Don't think it matters for the temp and oil but the fuel sender might be a different story. The gauges is what you have to cut down to 6 volts.

The stock 6V gauges and sending units will work fine with a NAPA#IR1 voltage regulator in series with 6V to gauges. That's what Ford did starting in '57 thru I think the 80's.

the 47 has an 80lb oil sender a 50 will not work right. you will need two temp senders one two wire & one single wire. i have the parts you need pm me if interested

I do have the 12v to 6v reducers for the gauges.

On my '47 Super Deluxe I use the "runtz" voltage reducers on the oil, fuel and temp gauges. They are reasonably tolerant of minor voltage variations and inexpensive. If your fuel gauge works okay at 6 volts should be okay on 12 volts.

Richard Crow is correct re 80 lb oil sender unit. Your '47 59AB should already have that and the reducer at the gauge takes care of the 12 volt change.

Aside from voltage issues, I've found the behavior of stock temp sender units are approximate at best and sometime "curious". My '47 did not come as "stock" and I prefer good quality aftermarket gauges .... my line-up has a more accurate amp gauge, a volt gauge, and mechanically actuated oil and temp gauges. My dash gauges are still active with the temp gauge operated only by the single terminal sender unit in the right-side head.
