1946/48 Columbia axle length
I have a question on behalf of a local member with no computer.
Does the Columbia rear end assembly use both the standard axles or is one side shorter?? Thanks Graham |

Both axles are the same length.

Re: 1946/48 Columbia axle length
Columbia use the Ford standard LH axle housing and replaces the Ford RH with the Columbia housing. Reuse both the RH and LH Ford axle shafts, both the same length. As RobR says above both sides are the same length. The Columbia stamped steel axle housing is 22 3/4" long from the brake backing plate to the Columbia cast iron end. It is unique because it also has a breather in the steel housing.
