Mike, Keith and I drove over to Don's to pick up his '37 LowBoy, to do some maintainance on it, for his wife Karyn. Here's a shot of Mike behind the wheel.

Vic, not sure if this has already been thought of, and/or already mentioned in a previous post on this thread, but what about making the theme, or part of the theme for this years Barners Bash a tribute to Don, and the memory of Don. Also, maybe Don's car could be at your place during the Bash for those who never got to see his car at previous events.

John, like Mike said, we've already talked about that and we're making plans to celebrate Don at the event. See ya in March.

My friends Mike, keith and I have been doing some work on our friend Don's '37 LowBoy Coupe. Don passed away last December but I'm sure he'll be ridin' shotgun with Mike tomorrow as we cruise up to Dade City for a car show. Another friend of ours, and fellow Cigar City Flatheads member, Steve has put together a breakfast and cruise to the Dade City show. Here's Mike in Don's Coupe, gettin' ready to leave my house. Now I'm heading' back into the garage to do a few things to the '39CS to get ready for tomorrow.

As luck would have it, yesterday turned out to be a wet one. The rain came much earlier in the day, in fact, it was raining when we left the Cracker Barrel after breakfast. We drove to a gas station to top off and all decided that we would just drive home, as we were sure the car show would be called off. The ride home in the rain was not too bad, the '39CS Flathead enjoyed the moist, cool air and the usual water leakage was at a minimum... Ya gotta love old Ford Convertibles... You know, they called them 'all weather cars' because with the top up or down, all the weather comes inside anyway...

I was able to actually make some progress on the '39 Lincoln Zephyr this past weekend. I stripped and primed the dash and also stripped the paint off of the radio face plate. In the stock configuration, the face plate is painted the color of the dash with only the surrounds being chrome. Before I prime it, I placed it in the dash to see how the chrome would look... I kinda' like it... Now I have to make yet another decision...

Looking good Vic. Just left Mickey & Minnie's place, heading west now in a Hot "Hemi" Dodge...only because I couldn't get a Ford Cobra. Making reservations at the host hotel, then on to Punta Gorda....later Gator's

PS...it's a gorgeous day here in Central Florida at 75°F, love it!!

I got back into the garage yesterday and actually got some work done. I replaced the leaking master cylinder on the '51 F-1. MY brother-in-Law was over so he gave me a hand, kinda like when we were kids, only this time the truck was on the lift not in the dirt... Looks just like it grew there.
