Default Roadster Door Knob

So I just took these two door knobs off of my AR28 Roadster and they are different from others I have. The one that was on my car is on the left and it has an octagonal shape. The one on the right is the other one I have that has a hexagonal shape. There is also some differences on the top and the base. So my question is, are the ones that were on my car a thing of early 28's? I couldn't find anything about it in the judging standards or anywhere.

They are Vintique. Buy them on eBay.

Chris: I just looked at the knobs on our 28 Phaeton. All 4 are repros, probably from Vintique. The head is 8 sided, like the one you have on the left of your photo. It fits a 5/8' open wrench, but NOT an 8 point 5/8" socket. So the mystery comes with your 6 sided door latch knob. Is it original? Like you, I couldn't find anything in the judging stands either. Can anyone else shed some light here?

I'm kinda with Bill. If there is nothing in the judging standards, it doesn't matter which you use - you won't lose points either way.

I have an original knob that is 8 sided and is 9/16 wrench size . The top has the look like the one on the right with the double bump .

FWIW

Looking at the RG&JS I would say the octagonal lever arm knob is correct. Look at the attached RG&JS 12-10 revised 2016 item "W".

RG&JS 12-10 Revised 2016 1928 Roadster, Phaeton (door handle lever arms nickel plated through 6/28 then painted black)

RG&JS Canadian F does not have any information on Area 12 Miscellaneous Interior Hardware
