Default 40 coupe doors part 2

Same 40 coupe.

Doors close beautifully. There is a key hole on the passenger side, works. How does the driver's door lock??

As the 40 is new to me (last one was 50 years ago) please bear with me as I'm sure there will be more questions.

Yep, key lock curb side only. The driver door locks with the inside handle. The idea is to lock the drive door, slide across and exit on the curb side and key lock the door.

Pushing forward or down does not lock it. I hate to pull the ddoor panel as it's probably been on since the nauga was done in the early 60's.
Thanks for the suggestion.

Try pulling the driver door handle up from the inside. Then exit the pass. door and use the key to lock the door.

Many states back in the day had laws against getting out of a car into the street, that is why the key is on the passenger or curb side of the car.

I fully understand the exiting on the right. I've had an A tudor for 8+ years.
