34 rear spring
I have a rear spring arch problem. I purchased a new main leaf with reversed eyes. I am running 700 - 16 . after installing I am 2 1/2 " from fender bead to the top of tire dia. Don't understand what the hell is going on. When springs are manufactured are they made with different arches? Any help would be appreciated. Stumped? Thanks Stan P.S. I would have to remove more than half of the leaves to get to where I want to be!!

Re: 34 rear spring
It might settle down a bit after being driven a while. That said, 2-1/2 would be a lot to come down.
A combination of selective removal of leaves and a gentle de-arching would probably do the trick. You could use longer shackles but anything much over stock length can cause handling issues. Mart. |

Re: 34 rear spring
Do you still have the original main leaf? If so compare the arc between the two. One way to do it is trace a pattern on something, even the floor will work. Then work of matching the new main leaf to the original. A press works well, just a bit at a time over short distances. Easy does it, it will most likely take several attempts to get it to match.

Re: 34 rear spring
You are still using most of the original leaves so that's what's dictating your height a reversed eye only gives you about a inch ,As said remove some leaves or get a spring maker to press it down ,
