Can anyone validate some frame dimensions?
Anyone have a bare frame they can easy validate these measurements? See attached plan. Wheelbase should be 103 1/2 right? Also. Looking for distance from center of front axle to the front frame where it begins to taper and the same from centerline of rear axle to start of the rear taper. I appreaciate it guys! The Wescott plans i hear are not accurate. Thanks!

Re: Can anyone validate some frame dimensions?
Centre line to centre line 103 1/2 centre line to front taper 22 5/8 centre line to rear taper 33 7/8 Those widths seem to be right but I think the 49 1/2 to the bend point is way out. I have 52 7/16 but that's measured paralell to the rail so it would be slightly less but not 2 11/16 less I wouldn't think. Maybe double check that one?

Go to wescottsauto.com frame measurments from 1909-0948.. Click on Tech. All the frame specs from 1909-1941 are on there, and you can print them out .

Re: Can anyone validate some frame dimensions?
Some off Wescotts measurements on the A frame are wrong. They don't even add up. The 32 one seems to be fairly right though.
Also I checked and the 52 7/16 I gave you along the rail from front centreline to bend point is right. |

Thatss the point. Wescotts have been said alot that the measurements are not accurate. I would not use any. I want accuracy so that i can make a set of framerails.

Re: Can anyone validate some frame dimensions?
Hey Jim just to clarify the P.M. looking at your drawing now, that rear crossmember should be 7 1/2 inches not 9. That 9" would be correct if it were to the bottom of the main frame before it tapers. It's 5" from the top off the frame. The frame is 2 1/4 at the back.
