Default Trexlertown, Pa. Swap & Show

Hi every one! Just got back from the Trexlertown swapmeet. This the new location for the old Hellertown show that outgrew the park where we previously had it. Pics to follow. Beautiful Day, and the D-jay was toned down a little. Some of them like to turn the amplifiers up to earsplitting or can't hear anything else! Ever try to make deals with that going on? This guy held it down somewhat. I was grateful! I got some parts, I sold some parts! It went well! Nice day! Very good crowd of friendly guys. Fire company sold hamburgers and coffee Etc. What else can I say? Only that the hobby is Not dying. Many younger people were present!

I especially liked that big American flag flying over the cars. A great day.

It was my first time attending that show and I must say that both my son and I had a great time.

Man! That flag was huge! Picture this, The fire company had their (I think) highest reaching piece of equipment holding it. It must have been 20 feet long. Immense!

Being a newbie to the world of model A's, I can't begin to express the thrill of attending yesterday's meet in Trexlertown. Having never seen more than one car at a time (while looking to buy mine) I was totally blown away to see such a huge gathering of cars in one place. I don't know how many there were but it was surely well in excess of a 100.

No doubt many showed up because it was the first local show and a great antidote to cabin fever after an extra long winter. There were cars there from Pennsylvania, of course, but also New Jersey, New York, Maryland and Delaware and perhaps a few other states that I missed. This being my first show, I hadn't known what to expect.
I had guessed maybe 15 or 20 cars might show up.

My only disappointment was that about ninety percent of the cars on display were unattended. I can understand that owners wouldn't want to stand around all day
answering stupid questions from guys like me, but some of the cars were so outstanding that it would have been nice to express my admiration to the owner.

Still, the few I was able to talk to were very helpful and seemed eager to pass on some of their knowledge to a new owner. I'm already looking forward to the next show within driving distance and next year, I hope to include myself as an exhibitor at this wonderful Trexlertown show. Congratulations to the show's organizers.

PS: I took a few pics at the show and will try to post a couple as soon as I figure out how to do it.

Thanks for posting this Brian! If you look all the way into the rear, dead between those two small buildings, you can see my little white Ford Transit and to the right in line with another white van is the little 1904 Model A. It ran and the owner drove it past my setup.
