There are many "good ones" but I suggest Uncle Max. The carb will be new again when it is returned to you. He is a close as your nearest Post Office.

Max has done many for me.
Never a problem.
Reasonable cost.
Superior quality.

You've already received the absolute best advice with UNCLE MAX! How many so-called "SF BAY" rebuilders even knows what an emulsion tube is, much less knows how to remove such and replace properly? GOOD LUCK with your continued search for a local "expert"! DD

AND, I think it will fit in a "Medium Flat Rate Box" that you can get from the Post Office, so shipping it out is pretty easy and not too expensive. Even with the shipping, turnaround will probably be better too!

I once had a guy from the SF Bay area refer to them as emotion tubes. True story.

I don't want to buck the system here but when I was in florida I used a local guy that did race carbs. Did a super great job. Oh course these guys are a rare breed... and do exist.

That said I've personally used Max with good results. If anyone remembers Ken it was not so good... well for me anyway.

Perhaps you could ask Sacramento ford if they know anyone. That's fairly close. Early v-8 club?? Hemings? Maybe Brizio street rods? Good luck. Mike

I sent the crusty 97 from my ‘35 to Uncle Max on a Wednesday via the $13 flat rate USPS box. It was back in my hands the following Wednesday and looked so good that I was reluctant to put gasoline through it! The car purrs like a kitten now.

In the time that it takes to find someone local, you can have it rebuilt by the best and back in your hands.

You say it's for a 34 so I assume it is a Stromberg and has not been replaced with a 94.

Why waste your time, and everyone else that has already recommended Max to you. He is the best. You snooze you lose.

I too had my 97 rebuilt by max. I was of the same mindset as "countrysquire".
A work of art!
