The truck on the right in picture #8 has a front axle with a second pinion built in to the rear of the front axle to operate the rear axle. The truck on the left has a different set up that I can't make out in the picture. I have kicked around building a tandem AA truck to mount an old antique well drilling rig on to take to engine and tractor shows. I have a spare frame and axle but I can't really figure out how to set it up. Would like to find an old Thornton Drive or something similar to build too
