Default Headlight Dimmer Switch

Can a original '40 Ford headlight dimmer switch be retained when converting to a 12 volt system? Thanks

Should not be a problem. 6 volt systems are built to handle more current load than 12 volt systems.

Yes. I did it years ago and it still works fine.
