Default V-belt and very small pulleye

Hello at all, I have a question about the V-belt.

I'm currently building in Brattons alternator. The type, almost looks like the original one. The pulley has a very small diameter. There are V-belts that have teeth down inside. They are better suited for a very narrow radius.

Has someone installed it and drives it well? Thank you for advice in advance.

Werner;
I know a number of people that use that style belt with the alternator. Yes it works fine. You are correct about the smaller pulley not working well with the original style belt.

Go with the castellated belt, I tried the original style belt when I went with the alternator and they kept braking. I think that the pulley diameter is too small for the original belt. The castellated belt is more flexible and has a better grip so it does not need to be very tight thus saving the water pump bearing.

Yes, this is the style belt I use. It gives a good grip to the pulley without excessive pressure on the bearings in the water pump.

I made new steel pulleys for both my alternator cars. I didn't like the small diameter and belt contact. I was concerned at first about them not turning the alternators fast enough but I can't tell there's any problem at all.
