I will soon be in need of a quality engine builder in the area near Racine, WI.
Any first hand experience of whom I might consider? Of whom I should run away from?

You might ask Bob Shellady (AKA Supereal), his shop is in Iowa City, 260 miles from Racine. If he can't do the job, he may know who can.

I used a machine shop in Hartford. Not a flathead specialist, just an old school operation. Not having a basis to compare, they did meet all my expectations. There's a fair rodder community in Racine/Kenosha, so it would follow that there is a house to be found.

Dave Hagen NAPA machine shop Rice Lake. He has machined blocks for me and build short blocks.
A drive from Racine but does good work.
