Default Bill Williamson

Dad got wacked in the rear driving his H.P. Scooter last Tuesday riding in the bike lane. He was very lucky that he came out with only a broken leg bone above his knee. The helmet took a beating when he got thrown off but it saved him from head trauma. They put a few straight screws ( he refused Phillips heads ) to piece him back together. All went well and is now in rehab with no computer till he is able to stand on it then he can go home, so chasing the nurses around has been a daunting task. He told me now he can upgrade to the newer faster model but will always wear his lucky helmet. He sounds great and buster t is in good hands

I also hope brother Bill makes a quick recovery !!!!!!! I was begining to wonder why I haven't seen any of his posts for the past few days. I know this will be tough on Buster T as well. I hope they will be able to take Buster T to visit Bill while he is in rehab. Thanks Mitch for letting us know.

He is a tough bird, and a lucky one. I will add him to my prayer list. That sounds like several months of rehab. Maybe the new model scooter gets a bicyclists" strobe light, they are more visible.

This worried some of us here in Fresno. My shop is about 8 miles from his house,
and he'd show-up here and another shop just South on me. His scooter has a
range of 35 miles.

It's not Willie(Bill),.....it's the majority of dip-sxxts drivers in this city. They squash
a lot of people.....and the "hit and run" is rampant!

This guy is too frail,..and this is no BS,...to be going one on one with a car!

That really sucks. We have a lot of marked bike lanes on the Minneaoplis streets, but a lot of driver's ignore that they are bike lanes.

Glad to hear Bill's doing better. I had no idea those scooters could go 35 miles. That's good for battery power. Bill might have to soup up his next one with a gas engine to get out of the way of stupid drivers. I wonder if Bill's scooter did have any flashing LED lights on the rear?

Oh, gee, tell him God Bless and prayers for a speedy recovery...

Also, if we all tossing to $5-$10 and if there was someone who could deliver it, a cheap Tablet pc might cheer him up. And not sure if I can last that long with his humor. I'm in for $10.

Sense moving to Georgia I have not kept as close of ties as I should have with my brother Bill and nephew Mitch. I will have to do a better job especially with Bill, I need to convince him that his Sons Of Anarchy days are behind him. But the biggest surprise is to find out Purdy is my brother as well and only a stones throw away! Very small world we live in.

Glad to hear Bill is in good spirits which can win for him over half of his battle ........ but .......... on second thought ....... with Bill in good spirits, this may cause a very serious problem ...................... maybe the nurses may not want to discharge Bill & want to keep him longer to splurge on his daily wit.

We are all with you Bill!

Hi family
Dusty
Hi Dusty, Thanks brother for the thought !!!!!!! We are all hoping for the Best for Bill And Buster T. Little dogs that are kept close tend to grieve for their master if very much time passes that they don't see them. This sounds serious for Bill at his age and rehab could take a while. Hoping for the best and a quick recovery.

Bill thanks everyone for the well wishes, prayers, support and will read them on cindys iPhone when she visits. I did talk to her about getting an iPad, tablet, or laptop to him but his wishes are to not have constant internet access so he can concentrate on his therapy and recovery. Keep him in your thoughts as I know it will make a huge difference.
Your all a great group of people

Mitch, tell Bill the first month is the hardest. I broke my leg skiing big time years ago and still remember the pain those first weeks. Tell him it gets better with time and those screws will hasten the recovery. Tell him my dog Honey wishes him good luck and also says hi to Buster T.

Will do Barry,

As soon as the bones start to connect they will spring him free. Until then he said he's treating it like a vacation

I called Bill tonite, he is in great spirits and is progressing nicely with his physical therapy. He is very grateful that his injuries are not any worse than they are. Aside from the broken leg he said he has a world class case of road rash but that is getting better also. His daughter and friends have dog taken care of. He doesn't have internet access but was thrilled to know we are all asking about him and are concerned. I plan on calling him every couple of days to check on him and I will report in here on the Barn to chronicle his progress.

Bill,

I remember reading a book about 35 years ago written by a very intelligent American Indian on describing his scientific method for training very intelligent, field trial winning bird dogs.

He raised bird dogs & said he paid kids in the neighborhood 20 cents an hour to play with his dogs to first make them "humanized" & to avoid kennel blindness.

He said that once in constant contact with humans, his dogs were "humanized", & they could read minds of humans & think just like humans. Few human commands were needed in training --these dogs were already human mind readers.

Further along he wrote about God's creation of stars, birds, mountains; but he said God never mentioned creating a dog when he created the Earth; God did not create dogs at the time of Creation because God always had a dog.

Our entire family are dog lovers & frankly, I think Saint Francis of Assissi was & is still absolutely correct that if humans can go to Heaven, so can dogs.

If we could figure a way for dogs to put cash in the church baskets, minister would no doubt want them in the first pew.

Just speaking up for our often mentioned & lovable Buster T -- he packs great love, unusual healing power, & something for you to live for -- just wish somebody allows you & Buster T see each other.

We understand you Bill, & also Buster T; & wish you only the best.

Bill, get well soon, we miss you.

But please do not use that old lucky helmet. Have it bronzed and buy a new one that has not suffered hidden structural damage from the accident.

Thumbs up Re: Bill Williamson

Glad he is doing well! Tell him he needs a Harley then he won't have to ride in the bike lane. All the best!
