We use to quite a bit. Then the cross timbers club disbanded probably about 5 years ago, and then my grandp, Pat Douglass, passed away 2 years ago so after that we pretty much quit going all together. But we should probably get down there sometime soon to see some of the old club members that we use to do a lot with.

I don't see many of the old model a's out driving around much any more. I think most of the interest is going away with all the older people. But there is a bunch of a stuff starting to pop up around here. I run into quite a bit of people that have a old car. Or have a bunch of parts. And really have not much of anyone around here to go to with it.

Very Nice! Thanks for the post. This might get me some more enthusiasm about getting mine done.

NICE WORK!

Most of the guys we use to run around with down there were street Rodders. Pedro westmoreland, LT Cooper (owns cooper feed store), and quite a few people from the Dublin area. Jim and Kim basinkski are active in the Fort Worth club even though they live in Dublin. LT cooper is pretty knowledgable about A's. He's restored quite a few, stop by his store and talk to him sometime. Just tell him Logan Douglass told you to stop by. Also if you have any interest in becoming a member of the Fort Worth club, let me know and I can get you some information. You're not that far from us.

I know mr cooper. I go in his store some. I grew up more into early v8's. My grandfather was into a's and t's. Here recently I have been buying up some a stuff. I'm going next weekend to get a 29 roadster from a old guy by Comanchee. And a guy I go to church with hoarded away a ton of a's and parts when he was young. They are selling the property where they all are. And I am trying to make a deal on all but one. He has a old hot rod he built in 57 when he was in high school. And wants to keep it. I will let you know about the Ftworth thing. No one around my age around here is interested in cars.

There are a few younger people involved with the Fort Worth/Dallas clubs. I'm 20. But good luck on your new purchase. Post some pics when you get it.

It was just simply what was available to me. I would have used a left hand drive if I had access to one at a good price. But i think for the speedster it just kind of makes it that much more different when people see it. Theyre already wondering what it is, then they see the steering. But i will never build another car right hand drive again. It just complicates everything under the hood, and its not a car everyone can drive because of how the pedals are all located. It still confuses me every once in a while, and i've been driving it for around 6 six months now.
