Re: Centre exhaust port baffle or fourth port?
If i decided to use a port divider the type made by Dunn engineering a very long time ago would be my choice. The Dunn divider is not a heavy casting it was two U shaped channels made from stainless steel placed back to back and spot welded together and of course shaped like the port. This divider is extremely narrow which of course reduces the port restriction the divider will cause.
From what I have been able to get in the way of HP out of 292 cubes without the divider I feel its not worth the effort. Learn from what Pete wrote in post #14 theres more power to be gained by thinking outside the box. Ronnieroadster

Re: Centre exhaust port baffle or fourth port?
Like others on this forum, I;ve tried many things and never knew if they worked, Pete Raced so he knew if a mod worked. Putting an engine on a dyno like JWL did for all his mods told him what worked and how much. There is one thing you must take into consideration is: what is the reason for thr mod, MAX HP?? That takes place at WOT. The only place you can use this us on a race track. I'm working on an engine for the street that I hope will make good power, and fuel economy , at avery reasonable cost, using all the information I;ve gained here and over 60 years putzing with these engines.. Might work, might not, but it's something to do.

Re: Centre exhaust port baffle or fourth port?
To be specific, it was a Yamaha V-Max motorcycle. Half the cylinders and mufflers. My better half didn't speak to me for a week!
