Sure wish that worked for me. Seems simple enough. It keeps telling me something about a 'Security Token'.

This is the best explanation I have seen. tps://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showthread.php?t=301908 As Oldbluoval says, be sure to downsize your photos--make them 600 x 800 pixels, and your difficulties are 90% solved.

How do you downsize? Currently I am taking pictures with my Iphone and then emailing them to my work computer. It doesn't have an option to downsize unless I'm overlooking it.

I think I got it. You need to use the Pixlr Photo Editor.

ETAModel, I’ve had the “upload file failure” message too. I think it’s because the file is too big. I installed the Compress app. I’m no computer wizzard, but it’s pretty straightforward and easy to use. It usually lets the photo upload. Not that I post lots of pictures here, but it’s always worked.

In ordinary Windows 10, look at a page of photo thumbnails, hi-lite the one you want, rc and choose 'open with'. Select paint, and the fuzzy photo occupies the whole page with a vast task bar / tool bar at the top. Near the left end choose resize. In the next window select pixels, and enter 600 x 800. The photo magically shrinks with new clarity, select save and you're done. To avoid losing a photo in this process, I first copy and paste the photo beside itself. You end up with two copies of the same pic, one labeled copy. After resizing you know that the copy is suitable for posting on FB or other forums.

Hey Guys ....I normally hang-out over on the "V8" side of the 'Barn. This picture posting THING has really been a thorn in the sides of a "FEW" over here, too. Several times, I have attempted to put-together a tutorial of sorts, and have actually had SOME positive results from a few posters. BELOW is a 'cut & paste' of my latest tutorial. Nice tutorial V8Coopman. I use a couple of ways to post pictures on Ford Barn

The easiest (for me) is to use Flickr and copy & Paste the BBCode. If the file is small enough I will use the "Manage Attachments" on Ford Barn.

What hardware and software are you using? Knowing that would make the answer much easier. I use an iPhone or Canon DSLR, Mac desktop and "Photos" software.

The issue with not uploading directly to the barn or forums in general, is that at some point in time, your threads will be stripped of the pictures. Photobucket has major issues with dead links. A lot of tech threads I posted in on various subjects over the years had their pictures stripped due to linking issues (photobucket) even after paying extra for linking abilities. Now, If I cant post it directly to the intended sight, I just wont upload pictures. Kinda sucks for the folks looking for them, and I'm sure you all have run across forums who's pictures suddenly disappear leaving just the text.

Bill ....I can certainly relate to your problem. Remember that you can always save ALMOST any picture to "MY PICTURES" on your PC. Using my process involving the use of the PAPER CLIP icon ( ),
it's possible to store about any pictures you want in "MY PICTURES" on your PC, and then post any of those pictures here on the 'Barn directly from your PC. Am I missing something? I'd like to help! DD

I myself, do post directly from my computer to forum sites. I was just giving a reason to not use 3rd party hosting sites for uploading a picture, and then linkining it to a forum. It WILL be a Forum owners nightmare at some point in time, guaranteed. It's good content coupled with good pictures that make a forum enjoyable, but when those pictures will not link anymore, the entire thread might as well be deleted. If it goes through a forum bad enough, the forum has a pretty good chance of fizzling out. Some forums owners realize this and no longer allow 3rd party linking.

An old school teacher of mine by the name Ray Gurran once told the class not be be ashamed or hesitant in saying you don't understand. Because if you don't you can betcha others in the class don't know either.
Now I have had 2 subscribers to this forum endeavour to explain to me reducing pixels. I have not comprehended. I continue to ask my friend Mercman to do so far me. He is the ace at that.
Like CatMan1, I also need would like to know. the most simple way possible to reduce pixels.

You cannot reduce the pixels, you can reduce the pixel count by making the picture smaller or changing resolution.
On a windows machine, there are about 5 million picture editing softwares/APs etc.
I have found simple freeware works wonders, choice for last 5 years is PAINT.NET
Very basic and straight forward, cropping and reduction of pictures.
Take your pick on file format, some are better than others if you are importing pictures to graphics programs or CAD.
