Default Ricardo Head

An interesting bit of trivia;

The Waukesha - Ricardo Model T head is reported to improve performance without raising the compression ratio. The secret is a different shaped combustion chamber.

This was developed & patented by Sir Harry Ricardo, an English engineer.

Harley Davidson paid royalties to Ricardo on most of their flathead models starting around 1920. This may explain the success of HD.

I am currently rebuilding the engine on my 1943 Harley Davidson WLC & discovered this fact when researching heads for the HD. The combustion chamber is certainly unique in shape.
