Default 1931 Roadster

What is the difference "if any" of the Deluxe and the Standard" Roadster?

There really wasn't a "custom" Roadster, they came standard and deluxe.

I wonder if "custom" refers to one that has been changed by the owner?

In a nutshell, the paint scheme color options were different between the Std. & Deluxe. The trim (upholstery) materials were different with the Deluxe having leather. The windshield on the Deluxe was shorter and was chrome plated, and the top assembly was different in construction with the Deluxe having chrome irons and an exposed Oak bow. Other minor differences but that is it in a nutshell. The mechanical side of both cars was the same.

What the fellas said.

The STD windshield frame is 15" while the Deluxe is 13". The STD interior was a black fabric and the wheels were black.

The STD is quite rare, only 5K were built. Most were Deluxe and when most STDs were 'restored' they were Deluxedified.

A 1931 Deluxe Roadster did not actually come with a welled fender in 1931. The luggage rack and automatic welled fender was dropped in 1931. You could still have a welled fender installed, but did not come off the assembly line that way.

Here's a link to Marco's "A Barnyard" page (currently offline) that describes the Deluxe Roadster:

Yeah, can't say I've ever seen a standard 30-31 roadster. Lots and lots of deluxe and deluxified though.

The one in the picture under my name is a June of 30 standard.I bought it with about 28000 miles,it had about 35000 when I sold it a couple of months ago.If you see a 30 DeLuxe with an oval speedo,it has either been deluxified,or somebody changed the gas tank using the earlier panel.Oval speedos went to round in June, and the DeLuxe car came out around August.

That looks like a '30 to me. They were more common than in '31.

The car in my aviator [mine] is a '31 STD that was Deluxified in the 60s. If I ever get around to 'restoring' it, it'll look like a STD when done.
