Default Side curtains for 36 woodie

It's taken a lot of thought and work to make these side curtains for the rear doors and quarters for my 36 woodie. And top it off with an upholstery guy who can't speak English. Finally came up with this design after studying pictures. Brackets and top/bottom frame are 20 gauge sheet metal. The side frames are 0.015 spring steel 1 inch wide. I think this is somewhat close to what they came with. Well since Lebarron Bonney went broke you can't buy them anymore. They wanted $2400! Last thing to do is paint the brackets and rivet the brackets together with 3/16 inch aluminum rivets with a large flat head. The fabric is ordinary canvas. Also attached is the picture I based my design on.

Howdy mrtexas! Thanks for the sharing. You've really done great with both your wagons!

Any chance you're bringing this to Auburin in August? I'd love to see it up close. I'm kicking myself for not crawling over that one in Dearborn that you're using for your reference photo that came from Trevor.

Very nice work!

I've got a 36 Phaeton so I know how unique these kinds of things can be. Certainly tailored to the vehicle!

Next step is try to sell the 36 woodie on bring a trailer. Thought I had it sold last year but didn't work out. Actually have 3 woodies and hope to get down to shortly. It was a lot of trial and error to come up with the curtain design using only pictures. I actually had some pictures that didn't help much. A forum member posted the reference photo that helped me figure out the final design.

Phil, there is currently a 36 wagon on Bring A Trailer. Very well presented. Check out the curtain between the first and second seat. The selling price should be interesting...Bill https://bringatrailer.com/listing/19...d-woody-wagon/

Came up with an interesting idea about how to waterproof the canvas. I'm going to paint it with latex wall paint the same color as the canvas. This will also fix the problem of some of the paint I sprayed on the fittings that got on the canvas.
