Default '34 Woody scam on the auction site- Don't bid

There is a really nice '34 woody on the big auction site for sale in Atlanta (supposedly)
The deal is a scam. The car sold on another site last week and is being shipped to Calif at the moment.
Be careful about bidding and do your research on anything you can't go and see in person.
These scammers are getting ceative.

It was. They pulled the fraudulent ad.
The car sold for 50K at the end of December.
That car 2 years ago would have been 125K.
The bottom is dropping out of many of the early Ford's.

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/19...-wagon-112-wb/ This must be the woodie in question. Details and comments are still on the BAT site this morning. Seems to me to be a legitimate deal. If it is a scam I can't quite figure it out. I live in a bubble so can someone explain what just happened a little more clearly? Thanks Bill...

It was listed on Ebay see above posting. It was pulled by Ebay so is no longer there.

The "Bring A Trailer" ad was the real deal and the car sold. The fraudulent ad was posted on eBay (probably using pictures stolen from the BAT ad) and has since been removed.

Thanks for the clarification. Initially I thought the issue was with the BAT site. For anyone thinking about buying an original '34 wagon it was a great buy! Bill

Amazing purchase. Makes truth of "They're still out there."

BAT over the last few years has really come into its own. Mainly sports cars and such, but the marquees listed has been widening. I admit I am on it every day, and did watch that 34 Woody sell. For every sale, buyer has to pay 5% on top of the purchase price, and shipping, taxes, of course.

It is an interesting format because it starts off with a cheesy description done by a BAT staffer, with info given to them by the seller. Then anyone can bid, and chime in with their observations and many times, insults, etc. Typical car guys stuff. And the Seller/owner can also post responses, more info. But you really learn a lot about every car. If you an actual buyer, it could be a help, or just make it more confusing.

There was a Gullwing there a few weeks ago, a no sale at 1.1 mil, darn! I just missed out!!
