Default '39 running boards?

I saw some Bob Drake running boards & they seemed really high priced. I found some on eBay & the covers that you can glue on. They are a bunch cheaper. Do any of you know if the glue on kind are okay? I know Drake has quality stuff. Thanks in advance, Rod

I replaced the rubber on my '40. As long as your metal structure is in good shape it's a good way to go, but it's a lot of work. You have to strip all of the old rubber off. I used a torch and a scraper, it's a dirty, messy job.

The Drake covers and all others require glueing. The drake covers appear well made and I will be installing them on my boards as soon as I finish getting them smooth as any in perfection will show.

I installed Drakes covers in 1988 and they have held up well. The hooked edge makes install a bit easier. I used contact cement. Do not let air bubbles form by trapped air. You might want to use a paint roller.

Hi; a local fellow does this and uses a contact cement that allows a bit of adjustment before setting. Newc
