If you are trying to save the brake shoes, I'd push the drum back on and turn it as you remove it.
If you are trying to save your toes, I'd put shoes on. I stubbed my toe yesterday in my living room and it feels like I broke a toe. |

I'd drill a hole in the lining, and the shoe itself if necessary, back as far as possible under the lip of the drum so as to get something in there (a long punch or a screwdriver) to pry against the lip. Might have to do this more than once as it (or if it) is worked out. Maybe. Grasping at straws here.

Success!!! The 3 jaw HF puller saves the day! Long enough pull action that the pad released. Now on next rear drum with stripped head bolt. Need more Wheaties!!!
