Default Briggs Town Sedan window trim question

Helping a friend repair Rt Frt door latch. Latch repair successful. Found that window trim was held in place at the bottom by small sheet metal screws that had been screwed into 4 captured/caged nuts on the metal plate that mounts the latch and regulator to the door frame. It looks to me like these caged nuts have been added or maybe a repair attempted at some point in the past. So, hereÂ’s my question:
Does the Briggs window trim (front door) fasten to door frame at bottom by machine screws (with proper trim washers)?

My Murray T/S has a wood frame surrounding the window opening and trim is mounted with oval head wood screws & trim washers

My '30 Briggs T/S has, as you state, caged nuts on the door plate with small machine screws . All 4 doors are so equipped. Wood screws in all locations on the door garnish except the front edge where Machine Screws with Tube/Sleeve Nuts are used.

Thanks for your help. Just what I needed to know.
Any idea what size tap I’m gonna need to clean up these caged nuts? #8? #6

Model A Tube Nuts
The tube nuts are used to mount the front window garnish molding. Included in the interior screw kits. #8 nuts are used in the slant windshield 4-doors, 10 per car. U.S.A.

Model A Tube Nuts

Thanks for the responses. I found out that the trim screws used on the bottom of the Briggs window trim are #6 , 1/2", oval head machine screws.
