Default 1939 Ford-Mercury door pillar

Can anyone help me my 1939 Mercury 4 door needs the bottom of the door pillars replaced or repaired and I cant seem to find any for Mercury or a Ford does anyone know whete I can find some or do I need to customize that part? Also does anyone know where the post in between the suicide door mounts at the bottom both of mine are rusted out. If I can get repair panels for all of that it would make the job a lot easier!
It used to belong to my granddad he bought it in 1954 and I bought it back from the man he sold it to in 2009 when i was 8 the same year he passed away and I am looking at restoring it.

Not trying to be Debbie Downer but, before you decide to restore the car find out what value it will have when restored. Custom fabrication work can consume boat loads of dough.

Thank you and Where do I find out the value? I don't think it will cost to bad we will be doing all the work ourselves and we have built a restomod 56 F100 it has a 97 4×4 f150 under it now! I was thinking of doing something similar to the car since I want power and fuel economy. But I need to get the main body work done before I think very heavy on that. I just hate to try to make the pillar bottoms if I can find some and I haven't been able to find any new....

I can help you with pictures IF needed.....as for finding the part you need you may want to put an add in the "SWAP MEET" "Wanted" section here on the barn as well.....IF you are in somewhat of a hurry I would suggest making the pieces you need. let me know IF I can help with photos.

That is a bad area to repair. Better check the rest of the car for serious rust. It is always more serious than first appears.

Seriously doubt that you will find any replacement sections and even if you did you would still have to cut and fit.
If you have the tools to install a new ready made section then to me the best route to go is to fabricate a replacement.
Looks like a straight forward forming operation without any fancy curved surfaces if this is what it looks like.

Not the exact part you need, but you can probably make this one from EMS work.

The poster had put three photos on the V-8 Club website. Posted in the Mercury forum. Look for yourself to see what he is trying to accomplish with an old Mercury four door. I think he should be searching for a complete body that is rust free .JMHO

I have to say this but if the car is so far gone that you can't tell where the door pillar attaches, the car is probably too deteriorated to attempt any kind of a recovery. Especially since it is a four door.

There was a running 39 mercury for sale in Corona CA the other day on the HAMB for $3500.
If you were nearby you could buy it and transfer a lot of the parts from your Grandfathers car.
