Hardheaded
I don't know how many post I've read about gauge issue, but there always seemed to be a comment to reverse the wiring. Well I wired the gauge according to the wiring diagram in the service manual, can't be my issue. Well I'm having crow for lunch. I swapped the wires and my fuel gauge started showing 1/2 tank which agreed with the ohm reading form the sender. I'm waiting for a voltage regulator to power the gauges and will install it when it arrives.
I'm going to attempt to attach a couple of car pics. |

Re: Hardheaded
Reversing the wiring only applies if converting to negative ground, and then only to the battery cables and the ammeter. Possibly includes the radio depending on what type/brand it is.
Nice coupe!

Re: Hardheaded
Where did you get your coupe? Looks exactly like my old car that I sold to a man in Georgia about 5-6 years ago.

Mine had a 302/C4 auto trans out of what I think was a 1970s era car. It was originally a V8/overdrive car with a 3 on the tree column shift before someone changed it. The original manual column shift was rigged up as the automatic shifter. It still had the overdrive emblem on the trunk. It had a factory power brake which had been removed. It had no title, which was not required in either Alabama or Georgia. It needed restoration as the paint was faded but same color as yours. I sold it to a man from a small town west of Atlanta but I forgot which town.
