I wonder if any of you folks have a good close up picture of the battery tray on a 42-47 Ford pickup ? I have a new tray and know one rod has to be riveted in place but the end with a hook is what I'm not sure how it is supposed to attach . Any help would be very appreciated ?

don't have a good picture but on the end of the tray is rounded metal piece on the bottom with two sort of wings on the side, your rod with the curve goes between these wings and then as you tighten wing nut it all sort of locks together

Bingo alanwoodie ! I just went down and tried it and that seems to be correct. Thank u from the village "Idiot" So simple, I just thought maybe those two little ears had to have a pin go through them to secure the rod in place. Thanks again, B

glad it worked, it sure did in my 49 F1. I spent many a great summer on New Found Lake, Whittemore Point Road at my grandparents place, swimming in the lake, fishing and riding in their Chris Craft

I think we have chatted once before. Nice to hear from U again. I used to work at Irwin marine in Lakeport when we were moving and unloading Chris Crafts from box cars. Loved those boats and still do !

I still have a 52 17 ft sportsman from Irwin Marine, second owner we have had it since the mid 70'S--maybe you unloaded that boat!
