Default top/molding sealer?

The next step on the ground-up restoration of my '30 Briggs fordor is the top. I understand that a sealer of some sort is recommended between the top material and the body, and then again between the top material and the molding. Does anyone have a recommendation on what kind of sealer that should be? Thanks so much.

3M makes a glass/weather strip sealer, it's black and you can get the gun to apply it with, it looks like a pump oil can with a long tube so you squirt it into any cracks or openings. Stuff works great!!! little expensive but it's worth it!!!

A tube of black seam sealer from your auto parts store or body shop supplier will work nicely.

I used 3M 5200 (small tube) around edge of material and over tack heads, it is flat black and takes 7 days to cure but remains plyable, and Ive used it to seal windshield rubber on my 64 pv544

There is a good video on the model a site that shows step by step top replacement, but they change the base to fiberboard. But I used this http://www.abarnyard.com/workshop/roofinstall-1.htm
