Re: 1932 ford pickup GVWR.
I'm trying to register my 1933 Ford P/U Model B in Cali. Would you guys agree that the '33 is probably the same GVWR as the 1932 that is in the Service Bulletin that was listed in this thread. I'm putting 2500 Lbs. Does that sound reasonable? Thanks for the help

Re: 1932 ford pickup GVWR.
What ever it could carry with the rear tired still holding it up and the front tires still on the ground. Folks weren't real interested in stuff like that unless they were heavy haulers and those guys went with a BB type trucks with either single or dual rear wheels and helper springs if necessary.
They likely could carry around 1000 lbs of load with the light commercial pickup without too much problems. I imagine the Ford sales force could tell a customer how much load weight they could carry safely. |

32FordNut:
Your p/u is exempt from weight fees in CA as noted above. Even if it wasn't the DMV would need a certified weight slip to determine weight fees not the manufacturers GVW rating. When I registered my '40 1/2 ton that I bought out of state I had to produce a weight slip from a certified scale (along with some other stuff).

Re: 1932 ford pickup GVWR.
I have a Nebraska 32 pu title that lists it as 1/4 ton. I'm assuming that's because it was only rated to haul 500 lbs comfortably? I'll bet you'd be surprised of some of the loads stuffed into that box.

Re: 1932 ford pickup GVWR.
Sorry for the late delay in answering. I thought I would get an email or text when I received an answer, I guess not. A friend is doing the VIN Verification for me and I was trying to get as much info for him as possible since he doesn't do these. Thank you so much BobC and 5150, I printed out the exemption so we can attach that for DMV. Thanks again for your responses.
