Default 31 S/W interior Side Panes

I am finally reinstalling the far rear side panels in my 31 S/W. On the inside of the panel there is a metal bar about 1" wide screwed to the panel at the bottom. At the top is a slot that lines up with a screw hole on the window riser panel. The screw that was in there is a oval head screw.
Does this panel just hang on the screw?
The oval head doesn't go thru the slot in the bracket, but I am not sure it is the correct screw.
Its been too long since I took the panels off & I don't remember.

The purpose of that vertical metal bar is to firmly support the armrest, so the weight of your arm doesn't tear off the entire panel. I, too, forget exactly what type of screw was used at the top. An oval head one seems reasonable. To install the panel, you screw in the screw with your fingers, while carefully bending the panel out of the way, and then use tacks along the front edge.

Is that an original penal? It looks to be in really nice shape!

Mine was actually a flat-head screw. I found the photo that shows it:

Thanks for the info. I don't think the panel is original.
Now I can get back to installing the rest of the interior.
