The "political crowd" is trying to shut it down because they will be the first to be burned at the stake if they don't in the event that things go south.

But with thousands mingling together with no PPE in the midst of a lethal pandemic, what on earth could go wrong?

Despite a Pennsylvania Health Department lawsuit filed this week against Carlisle Events seeking to shut down the twice-postponed Spring Carlisle show and swap meet, Carlisle officials intend to keep the event's gates open through this weekend.

So the hospital workers who have had to and continue to deal with this are just faking it! Not a loss of freedom its common sense to try and protect one another.

UPDATE: Multiple news outlets are reporting that Carlisle Events and the Pennsylvania Department of Health have reach an agreement in principle that will allow Spring Carlisle to continue. Details of the agreement have not yet been released.

Well, that is interesting.

A friend went and while he sold stuff he said it is not as goos as it usually is. He did not seem to regret his decision to go.

Some valid observations about the gravity of the alleged virus issue.

Reality is so far in the state where im located over 4000 deaths and not from a flu but from something they call a virus thats not fake stuff for our hospital workers. Keep hoping the hospitals in your area don't see any of this but heck sounds like they could use the business.

Seems too be a lot of people here that don't mind spreading a dangerous bug to others or getting it themselves. If you get it, it can kill you. 146,000 deaths are real. And not just old folks in a nursing home.

There have been a number cases where people have thought masks and social distancing were infringes on their rights - then they caught the virus and are singing a different tune.

Lots of denial of science among a certain group of people. Maybe the earth is flat??

Come on, man. Stop. Talk about the show or move on. The virus is real. Don't think so? Tell that to my good friend's widow and her three children. Dead at 48 and healthiest person I knew.

I hope to God no one you know dies alone in a hospital bed.

Perhaps because the "social distancing" worked? Also, the government was prepared in the event it spread rapidly (read up on Spanish Flu pandemic1918). Another
quote in your post, "not old, ancient" implies the elderly or infirm at any age are expendable. Please cite your source(s) proclaiming that "Quarantine isn't necessary, social distancing is debatable." That statement contradicts all scientific data to which I have been exposed.

What no one is discussing is the number of deaths from this quarantine. That might make it inconvenient. It's like putting in a cam because you like the lumpy idle but the car runs like crap at every other point. Let's just ignore that.
I'm sorry you only have 3 more months to live. I find it absurd that non-perishable car parts and the dollar are more important than the greater good of society. Death numbers are in other replies in this thread.
