Default Ford V8 14K gold filled Elgin Pocket Watch Value

Does anyone know what the current value of an Elgin 14K gold filled pocket watch with Ford V8 logo on face is worth?

Thank You!

This is what some have sold for without the logo on Ebay.
And of course condition is a factor.

Gonna depend on the model and amount of jewels.

I have one. I paid about $100.00 for it. I thought it was worth much more as it is the only one I've ever seen and in perfect working order. I have a collection of Ford watches, both wrist watches and Pocket watches. About 50 pre-war watches in all. I just love 'em!
Can you get a picture of yours?

I have attached a photo of the watch in the original post. Any help is appreciated. My dad passed away in 2006 and he had this watch quite sometime before that. I am guessing 30 years.

Thank You!

Where would I find this information Do I need to remove the back cover and is it engraved on the inside of the back cover?

Hi there, You can carefully unscrew the back cover of the watch. Note the serial number and the number of jewels of the movement or any other markings. Your watch does not look particularly old but maybe 1930s to 1970s. Condition is everything. Does it work ? What is the finish of the case, silver or some gold content. 14 kt gold filed is not a high gold content. The V8 logo on the dial may not add a lot of value to it, but maybe some extra value to a V8 fanatic. Google "Elgin National Watch Company" and find much info on the company and look up your watches serial number in the listings on several sites, which will give the year of manufacture. The company was founded in 1864 and closed and sold off in 1968. The Elgin name may still be used by other companies. Regards, Kevin.

tb,
If that watch was mine the first place I'd go would be Cliff Moebius

Cliff buys but almost never sells genuine FORD memorabilia ,his displays at
V8 Meets are impressive to say the least.

The case serial Number is 6940141 Wadsworth quality. The the elginnumbers.com website indicates 1897 as the production year and 7 jewels. Does this make sense for the case? The V8 faceplate would be from 1932 or later with the ford v8 logo. What does wadsworth quality mean?

The works components have a production number is 25224705 with a case number production number 6940141 wadsworth quality. The works production number makes this production around 1903-1939. This is a working watch. any Idea of value?

It's worth what ever you can get or how much it would take to get you to part with it. I know, not the answer you want.

That works # indicates 1922 according to my guide book. Wadsworth grade refers to the case not the works.

Don't think they would have been using the Ford V8 symbol in 1922. So the thinking is this watch was put together using 1922 works with a post 1932 face?
