Picture of 255ci, full flow oil system
I recently rebuilt my motor and discovered the extra pug in the rear for the return oil of a full flow system which I did not realize the motor had. If any one is interested I will give them the details. This is a block from Canada in my Meteor 1953.

Re: Picture of 255ci, full flow oil system
Harry, I recall a previous post by someone who setup his rebuilt engine with the Canadian style full flow system and he chose to temporarily block off the filtration feature and run the engine. This caused some bearings to fail from lack of oil flow. You may want to make sure you do not do the same thing on your engine. Maybe you could do a search and find that thread of posts.

Re: Picture of 255ci, full flow oil system
If ,he just blocked off the system them he would have the supply with no place for a return You need the return for the bearings to get oil. The way the block is set up, it has the extra taped hole in the top that goes directly back to the oil pump. You them insert a threaded stem that goes in the side hole, but still lets the oil bypass back up to the filter. The stem end has a O ring that keep the oil separated from each other for the two upper holes. So you have a supply and return hole on top of the block with the filter in between. I found the man in Canada that mechanizes the side stem plug with the O ring. The only way it would have worked is if he had a pipe from out the top between the supply and return to complete the circuit.

The 2 std oil holes in the back of the block. Take out the side one, stick a screwdriver in the hole, if it goes in about 6in. there is no plug in there, SO, you can just plug that extra Cananadan hole up top.

Bill, Is that a picture of your Joe Abbin blower motor? If so, I want one just like it even though I can't afford it.
