Default Headlights

I have a 49 ford sedan with 6 volt system. Has anyone found good replacement headlights that are brighter than original headlights?

Make sure the headlights are properly grounded. Most times headlight brightness can be fixed with good clean grounds.

I replaced one of mine ( because I dropped it) with a H6006 from O'Rilly's it is brighter than the 6006 original one. It still won't blind you but a little brighter. Al

H-6006 are quite a bit brighter on my l950. I have a relay on the high beams also.

Another improvement is to fit a dual relay in your headlight circuit. Especially if the wiring/switch is older as this: 1) Reduces the stress on your old wiring and switch, 2) Ensures full voltage is applied to the headlights = best light output from whatever lights you have. I burned up an old switch in my '42 using bulbs of a higher wattage than normal.
