Default Stromberg 48 carburetor problem.

I have a Stromberg 48 carburetor on V8 engine, and when I have adjusted the two idling screws so the engine will idle correctly it is hard to start when it is hot.
It will start when it is hot after awhile, if you do not depress the accelerator pedal. If you undo both idling screws about 1/2 turn which will make the mixture richer the engine will start easier by depressing the accelerator pedal a small amount too, but engine does not idle as quite as good.
When the engine is cold it starts straight away.

It should not be that touchy about idle adjustment and throttle position. I am always suspicious of the coil when a flathead does not want to start when hot. When hot and not starting, check for a blue spark that will jump 1/2".

Adjust the idle mixture adjustment using a vacuum gauge for the highest reading possible. Should be about 3/4 of one turn out each. have you adjusted the throttle accelerator pump? Where is the idle RPM adjustment set to??
