put double element sockets/bulbs in the parking light. I went to the local auto parts store and purchased the metal plug in replacement lights, remove the single element fixture, put the double element metal can in and flattened the spring prongs and soldered it to the light housing, used amber bulbs and it works great!!

The more common dual-filament bulbs (1154 in 6v) can end up right against the lens. Make sure you set the new sockets back enough to clear. There is some bulb that is noticeably shorter but I can't find it in my notes.
