Josh, you really need to get into a habit of taking lots and lots of photos. It is amazing how you can refer back to these months later when you are trying to figure out exactly what parts were there, ...and it helps you see 'progress'. When we are doing a complete project, it is not uncommon for us to take between 300-500 photos of the entire project. Many are not worth showing to anyone else but they are invaluable for helping you "remember".

If only I could keep my wife from filling up the memory cards on the camera!!! LOL! I will now, Brent, now that I've got a build thread going on here. Thanks for the advice, man-

The best thing about the "new" digital cameras over the old film cameras is that you can afford to take 100's of pictures and keep them on your computer for practically no cost. It seems that no mattter how many pictures I have taken during tear down I find that I should have taken at least one more.

That wheel well picture sure tells the story of some "RESTORATIONS".

I like your 2 door stops in the last picture. Midwest Military has the cannon that could probably fire them.

Mike,
that's something i've toiled quite a bit over. I would really like to hot rivet it, however, I'm not really set up to do so. Since I'm trying to get this thing back on the road in somewhat of a timely manner, and since I've been unemployed for over a year, I decided to put in some grade 8 bolts and let 'er fly. I hate having to do that, but as the ol' sayin' goes- "it is what it is."

Thanks! I've had those since I was about 12. Wow- 20 years goes by fast! Anyways my Dad was a Gunner's Mate in the Navy Reserves and he got them for me on one of his two week training ops. They are dummy training rounds from the old 3'' guns on a battleship.

Josh - make up some 5/16 bolts with a solid shank like a rivet so there are no threads to be worn down and loosen up the fit. Cut threads back enough to end within a lock washer thickness above the frame and Xmember thickness. 1/4" rivets were used originally but you will find the holes to be greater than 1/4" dia. Bill G

Thanks Joe, actually I had to purchase another frame because the one that was under the car had too much rot (was actually rusted in two) around where the cowl panels mount. I bought this one in Atlanta, put on two frame horns, did some welding to the transmission x-member, had it sandblasted and primed.
