Default 2014 " Barner's Bash "

Well guys it's time once again to put Vic's feet aginst the fire & see if he can pull off another fun time in Florida's SUNSHINE

As any one that has put together or TRIED to put together sone kind of gathering they can attest to the amount of work and time it takes.
And for this I Thank Vic.

We can HELP by giving Vic INPUT & IDEA'S

Vic if you are considering early March I would like to see the 1st weekend in March / Our full time job starts Mid March and we hope it starts with a BIG BANG / This year this year it started with a PPPPPPPPPPPPPP
( put your lips together and blow air out and you will pronounce it correctly)

For those that have never attended it is a very layed back setting with some realy nice people.
Some even bring there cars ( COOL )

THINK ABOUT IT
It's one more thing you can take off your bucket list!!!!

Hi Bill, We'd like to host another Florida "Barner's Bash" in 2014 however, last year we were unable to secure the support from (we'll call them "sponsors") that we've enjoyed in previous events. We did have participation from a lot of Florida Barner's that helped make the 2013 Bash an enjoyable event. It does take a lot of pre-planning to stage an event, (more then posting "promos"), and it is also difficult to schedule the event to meet everyone’s time frame. In previous events we've taken part in the Billetproof show at Don Garlits Museum, taken a tour of the National Parts Depot automobile collection, toured the Edison, Ford estates in Ft. Myers, been treated to excellent BBQ by Mr. Moose in St. Pete and Tom M. in Ft Myers. We've also enjoyed the fixin's of John (oldford2) and his wife Barb at Fred Howard Park on the Gulf of Mexico in Tarpon Springs. You, (Bill) have been a staunch supporter of the event with the creation of the "Miss Shelly Award", etc.

The event has become somewhat of a tradition, and we’ve enjoyed the participation of a bunch of Barner’s over the years, but I’m not sure that the interest and/or willingness to participate on the part of attendees and sponsors (to provide raffle prizes, etc.) still exist. I’m game to do what’s necessary to hold another Florida “Barner’s Bash” in 2014, as long as I know we’ll get a modicum of support from Barner’s and those that support the hobby providing parts and/or services.

For those reading this, if you fit either criteria mentioned above and would like to lend your support, please let me know. I hope we can continue the tradition. Vic

Bill,
Kathie and I enjoyed the picnic at Fred Howard Park the most. I'm sure most guys would help kick in towards the rental of the pavilion and the food. Cut back on the sponsors, we'll just have a get together of ol' Barners and their better halves. After all the miles traveled by everyone this last year, there will LOTS of stories.

Well, a picnic gathering right on the ocean is a great backdrop for exchanging Ford adventures. Especially with the parking area around the pavilion filled with old Fords and the blue ocean behind them. Barb and I will certainly host the cookout and I am sure participants will kick in to the modest pavilion fee. Maybe Jeff (Very Tangled) will post some Howard Park pictures he took at the last meet to stimulate interest. Maybe some short area tours. Plenty of spots on Tampa Bay to visit.
Just some thoughts to encourage other folks to chime in with their thoughts to help Vic in his planning.

John:
Nice offer from you And Barb , & excelent Idea about Jeff posting some Pictures of the earlier get togethers.

What is nice about that spot is that there is pavilion so if there is a passing shower we can all get a little closer in knowing each other under cover of the pavilion.

If we can get a few new people to post some Ideas We can make this the best one yet.

Vic, As of now, you can count us in for at least a part of the bash in the 1st. weekend in March. We will be staying at our place in Floral City. Here's a pic entering Quebec 10/19/2013.

Like to attend the Big Swap Meet at Daytona, is this later in the month of March? I know it was mentioned last year. Now I need to change the rear end in the 34, heard that tours were in the 60 MPH range, thanks for the work it takes to make this happen,

Vic, Good timing for us, but a week earlier would be even better!! Returning home from SW Florida on March 1 unless it is snowing in Illinois. We missed last year by a couple of weeks.
