Default brake linings

i have a 1929 tudor with cast drums. which is the better lining for touring,woven or molded? thanks

The general consensus is Moulded are better with cast-iron drums however the lining must be the softer lining and not the hard type that was made for hydraulic applications.

Some cast drums are suitable for woven linings, some are not. Check with your supplier. The brass woven through the woven linings scours the cast iron if the wrong grade of iron has been used.

I would say the lining is less of an issue then just doing the brakes properly.

Dont matter much how good the lining grabs if it is not set up to the same radius and centered.

I would worry a lot more about getting the linings and drums matched and centered. Plus a bunch of new parts to make sure they work even.
