Default 1917 Model T Ford Front Allignment

Does anyone know about the device known as the Ford "front axle straightening bar" referenced in the "Alignment of Front Axle and Wheels" manual? My Ford has the axle angled backwards and does not steer well. The wishbone brace is obviously bent near the axle. It seems that the Ford method of alignment was to bend the wishbone with the "straightening bar" to achieve the correct pitch of the axle. Any help in correcting this condition would be appreciated. The current reverse pitch of the axle is unstable on the road.

You might try looking for an old alignment shop that does truck axles. Next suggestion. You posted in a forum intended for questions to the editors. Leave it here but also post it here:

You might have the perches backwards. There is a front and back to the perches, the axle itself has no front or back. Post a picture of the perch area on the T forum. It could also be other things.

This section is for questions about the site not car questions. Open the link that Charlie has in his posting.
