Default Snyders rumble hinge fix

In the 2010 Snyders catalog, page A177, there is the following statement under the rumble seat hinge kit .

When installing new hinges on your deck lid, it is sometimes necessary to use flat washers to shim between the hinge bracket and the deck lid.

Can any one explain this. I guess Snyders knows that they don't fit.

I think it's in order to "center" the deck lid.

Call Tom Jordan at Snyders. He'll give you a straight answer.

Every car and body are different. If one lid fits on one car, simply moving it over to another car doesn't mean it'll fit the new car. You have to make things fit nicely on model a's, therefor adding and removing shims in places that may need it. They weren't perfect gaps from the factory, but you can get them really really close.
